Music Quotes

So random fact about me:

I love a good quote. I have quotes I liked saved all over my computer, written on post it notes in my room, on posters on my walls, saved in my phone, and saved in various email addresses.

I'm about to get a ipod shuffle and you get to engrave it for free. So I need a tiny (short) quote that I like about music. So far I have the following choices:

Music is what feelings look like

Music is love in search of a word

Music is an outburst of the soul

Where words fall music speaks

You are the music while it lasts

Music is life.

Which one? Or any more suggestions? Let me know.

Much Love.

Aghhhhhhh...So disappointed in myself

Look at how many days I've missed of posting. That stops now. Here's my post for Saturday lol. Well glad I did that. Pikers concert was amazing. Black Anthology will be amazing. My sister was in LNYF this weekend, she was great. Haha...Now off to the Pikers Afterparty.

MLK Commemoration 2010 - Git on Board - Black Anthology

5 Things:

1) Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was, is, and will always be that deal.
2) Shoutouts to WU-Slam, Visions, for their performances!
3) Anyone and everyone should show up to support Black Anthology 2010. It will be the final time Class X gets to be a part of it. The show is on Feb. 5 & 6 at Washington University in St. Louis' Edison Theatre. http://edisontheater.wustl.edu/ovations/calendar.html
4) If you have not read or seen the Colored Museum I implore you to do so.
5) Here's my performance at the WashU MLK Commemoration 2010. It was a way to honor Dr. King and publicize Black Anthology.

Back to School Back to School

It's the first day of class!!!
It's the last first day of class in undergrad!

It's only 8:58 and today has already been a good day. I woke up on time, felt great. Put on some cute clothes made a mug of tea and headed off to hear about my independent fitness class. I love getting credit for something I already wanted to do anyways. It's fantastic. And my friend is in my class...plus she happened to be enrolled in Argentine tango and needed a new partner since her partner dropped the class...so I might be in that.

Currently...I'm cooking some breakfast, then I'll head off to work with my babies.

I'm just all smiles today. Probably a mixture of the goodness so far today, the high from performing for the MLK commemoration yesterday, and excitement for the rest of the day (TFA phone interview, hopefully booking spring break plans, hopefully some shopping, with luck a little Argentine tango, and of course a good time dancing it up with the Black Anthology dancers).

Catch ya later... PURRciZion

How many days has it been since I've posted. I need to do better. I'll double up some days. Promise. Currently i'm trying to get the apartment in order since RA training starts tomorrow so I'll post a long update later. But quickly a few random thoughts... I can't believe its been a year already been a year, I LOVE YA'LL!!!!, I can't believe its senior year, honestly applying to jobs and such doesn't even feel weird, it just feels like I'm applying for random internships for next semester...but there is no next semester, also, I love my new job, those kids make my day, and its SO close to home. Alright, I'm out. I've got too many dang clothes.
Peace.

No Cross-Country Running...but We Chill on the Regular

Let me put it this way, the big J and I don't go on cross-country runs together or anything like that...but we def. chill on a regular basis. So in case you didn't know, I am a friend of God.

That song is stuck in my head because I read a Facebook note one of my friends wrote ( I wasn't tagged in it, so clearly I was nosy) and it was a letter from Jesus to her friends. I don't know how I feel about such things.

Another random thought...I tend to hang out with a lot of Harambee people. I don't know if I'm actually a good representative for the organization because my church attendance is flaky and I'm definitely more spiritual than religious. I also don't have a holier than thou attitude or pretend to have one which Harambee has a reputation for. Oh well. Just something I thought about.

Have a good day back at school for everyone who's going back!

Traveling

You know the book "Around the World in 80 Days" by Jules Verne. I distinctly remember reading it in 5th grade, re-reading it and using it for a book report in 6th grade, and the movie that came out with Jackie Chan some years later. I love that story. And I really want to end up with friends all over the world and I want to go all over the world.

Because I'm an insomniac and cannot fall asleep until at least 2 I spend a lot of time thinking at night. Last night I pondered how I was going to travel especially with my lack of funds. i thought about all the places I've already been: many states in the US including Puerto Rico, Ecuador, and Spain. That's a lot considering I've never been rolling in dough or anything, but I still feel like it could have been more. As such I have recommitted myself to making these travel plans happen.

I am excited for this semester. I will be:
-going on a cruise with my roomies to somewhere I've never been
-visiting one of my best friends in Canada
-???? who knows what else

If anyone knows cheap places to travel too or has any suggestions about websites to check out, please let me know.

Thanks bunches!

Today is Saturday

Do you ever notice how during school breaks you loose track of time? It usually trudges along and speeds by in waves. I really had no idea it was when I work up today, however I have accepted the fact that my laziness must and because my break will end in less than a week. ::Sigh::

Today was typical enough...woke up to find my mother had taken my car out to run errands so I was yet again trapped in the house. Instead of being productive I watched the NCIS marathon with my sister until she returned (we looove tv marathons). We ate random quick to eat snacks instead of getting off our butts and cooking.

Later we headed down to Palm Beach to go visit the apple store so they could check out baby J and Quita's ipod (she cracked the screen...surprise surpise). Scott, my friendly apple store employee fixed my baby, and I got some chik-fil-a so I am smiles.

The end.

The First Day of the Rest of My Life

Oh today has been a good day:

1) Finished a job application for St. Louis Language Immersion School
2) Worked on other applications
3) Deleted tons of old emails
4) Watched a Looney Tunes Marathon all day
5) Made a fantastic pic in honor of ZSL. Check it out:

6) Found out the stl symphony has a show on my half birthday showing bugs bunny cartoons where the orchestra plays the original scores...& discovered tickets are half price with student ID!! I'm going. You should come too!

That's all for now. It's just been a nice chill day. Hope yours was great too! ::smile::
